Human Impacts
Citizens near the tar sands, and workers in northern Alberta are affected physically by the tar sands. The air, water, and land quality is very harmful to life. The government has allowed the tar sands to hit a new low, not only harming and killing the Boreal Forest, but perhaps now humans. As the oil pipelines are plowed through Canada and the United States, private property is confiscated. Sadly, at this point the provincial and national government won’t make any actions to harm the industry in any way.
Workers
The workers in the tar sands are impacted enormously by the tar sands. They work and possibly live in highly polluted conditions and may be called to work wherever and whenever needed.
Aboriginal
The First Nations Territories in Northern Alberta are suffering the consequences of the oil sands. They're withstanding many treaty rights violations. They can no longer hunt or fish on their land due to the pollution from the oil sands. There is also a significantly higher rate of cancer among the tribes, caused by the pollution.
Pipeline
There is increased toxic pollution in numerous communities in Canada and the U.S. The society is impacted by the pollution. It could affect the quality of life, and the value of a property in the area. Democratic rights are demolished as private property is confiscated to build pipelines through Canada and the United States.
